Shock and Awe

That's how we felt at 8:30pm last night.  After a mere 28 hours ... our power was restored.

We are so grateful to the countless utility crews who are working round the clock to restore power to our state but...given the state of our shoreline not to mention the devastation in NY and NJ, we just assumed we'd be low on the priority list.

We accepted it early and just planned to roll with it.

In fact we were so unprepared to get our power back that a neighbor had to knock on our door to let us know the power was back on; our generator was still running. :-)

And now that our lives have returned to normal, we pray for those whose lives have been turned inside out and upside down by Hurricane Sandy.

My comment on yesterday's post has gone missing... do you have a spam folder?

It's good to be empowered, ain't it? ;-)

Thanx for the heads-up Buck; I check the spam folder everyday but forgot yesterday and - yup - there was your comments. Have no idea why...

Glad to hear you folks made it through the storm. We were fine, the only thing we lost was the internet for a couple of days. I didn't complain. So many lost much more. Hope things are going well with you both!

So glad to see you're OK and powered! Our friends in Wilton are still without power, have some 60' pines down but no damage to their house or cars. We heard tonight that the line crews from our local area here in WI made it to CT yesterday. Here's hoping the whole area can get power restored, dried out and damage repaired quickly.
