Celebrities are firing off on Twitter these days - sharing their hatred and venom about all things conservative.

We have Samuel L. Jackson bemoaning the fact that Hurricane Isaac will miss the convention:

Unfair shit; GOP spared by Isaac! NOLA prolly fucked again! Not understanding God's plan.

Not to be outdone, legendary Cher Tweets her own brand of vitriol:

If Romney gets elected I don't know if I can breathe the same air as him and his right wing racist homophobic women hating tea bagger master.

And finally Ellen Barkin lets us know how she feels:

C’mon #Isaac! Wash every pro-life, anti-education, anti-woman, xenophobic, gay-bashing, racist SOB right into the ocean!

And the blog world has been all fired up with this stuff for the past week or so.

So ... here's the thing: we need to start ignoring celebrities and wannabes and their political commentaries.  If they want to run for office, then they will possibly have a point to make.  Until then they need to STFU; they don't live in any sort of reality that the average American citizen can relate to.

In fact, the are over indulged, ridiculously over paid and have no idea what it takes to run a household, pay the bills and keep or get a job in this kind of economy.  I would hazard a guess that they don't carry money or credit cards either; they have people to handle those mundane tasks for them.

In short, they are the very tip-top of the 1% that they want to distance themselves from - and can't.

And if we aren't going to ignore them, they need the harsh light of examination focused upon them.  Let's take a good close look at their tax returns, their college transcripts; let's examine the fund-raising efforts of George Clooney - who is holding an Obama campaign event to raise money for his beloved Messiah...in Switzerland.

Imagine if someone like Kelsey Grammer or Adam Sandler - both conservatives - said anything like what you read above about Obama and the DNC.  Think about how much crap we'd have to listen to - wall-to-wall coverage complete with the ever-annoying "special story logo" - if Clint Eastwood held a fund raiser for Romney...in Spain.  The outcry would be loud, obnoxious and never-ending.

The fact is - you'll never read things like that from Grammer, Sandler, the mighty Eastwood or any of the other conservatives in Hollywood.

Conservatives, I find, don't need to reduce everything to the ad hominem, or worse.  We deal with facts.  We stick to the facts.

Facts - confuse liberals.
